Is there a way to disable JSON parser for certain URL?

I'm tracking this url: https://dldir1.qq.com/weixin/android/weixin_android_alpha_config.json

Despite the filename suggesting json, it's not a valid JSON file. It is actually a javascript file. ChangeDetection treats it as a json and hence errors out: Exception: No parsable JSON found in this document

Of course I blame the website for this stupid inconsistency, but I'm wondering if there is a way to disable the JSON parser for this url and just treat it as plain text? My current workaround is to use Chrome webdriver for it, which bypasses the json parser. Any other approach will be appreciated. Thanks!

Interesting, The structure is actually JSONP (JSON with Padding). but the server returns application/json

Ah okay... I know very little about these so thanks for educating me. So I guess there isn't a simple solution for this, other than using the webdriver, right?
